Caritas Business College (CBC) proudly opened its doors in February 2021, offering a launchpad for students seeking exceptional education in Office Administration and Tourism & Hospitality Management. With meticulous two-year Diploma programs, CBC prioritizes quality education and equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in these dynamic fields.

CBC's commitment to high standards is evident in its achievements. Securing Institutional Registration from the National Higher and Technical Education Board (NHTEB) and Programme Accreditations from the PNG Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST) is a testament to the college's dedication to delivering quality education. These recognitions showcase adherence to rigorous standards, ensuring students receive an impactful learning experience.

Driven by a vision to cater to a wider student body, CBC is steadily expanding its reach. Following the initial intake of 30 students in 2021, the college welcomed another 30 in 2022, showcasing its growth and ambitious future plans. CBC aspires to ultimately educate 150-200 students across both programs, fostering a diverse and vibrant learning environment.

Through its carefully crafted Diploma programs, CBC equips students with specialized skills and knowledge. Whether mastering the intricacies of Office Administration or navigating the exciting world of Tourism & Hospitality Management, students graduate with the necessary competencies to confidently pursue rewarding careers in Papua New Guinea's thriving business sector.

Caritas Business College was founded with a singular purpose – to shape today's youth into honest, productive, and faithful Christian citizens of Papua New Guinea.

                 Our commitment is to empower students, encouraging the development of both technical skills and academic prowess. We strive not only for personal success but also to instill a sense of pride in our students as they become globally competitive in the fields of Business Administration and Tourism & Hospitality Management. Diploma Program Offerings

Caritas Business College (CBC), established in 2020, will launch its first 2-year diploma programs in Office Administration and Tourism and hospitality Management. Being a technical tertiary institution, CBC commits itself to nurturing the youth with basic employment-oriented skills to be catalysts of transformation in their own communities and PNG at large. 

In order to meet the on-going demands of the society, CBC has prepared well-planned programs and instructions to guide the learning of students. Inherent in the instruction are the educational purposes or intended educational outcomes, curriculum content or subject matter covered by the curriculum, learning experiences the students go through which the educational purposes or learning outcomes have been achieved.

The degree of success of learning depends to a large degree on the qualifications and capability of the teachers, the application of student-cantered strategies, the optimum utilization of technology, the employment of thought-provoking questions, the maintenance of conducive learning atmosphere, and the good rapport between and among administrators, teachers and students. Prompt feedback and appropriate handling of students’ responses are likewise must be given due consideration. Similarly, the quality and quantity of supervision should be given paramount importance in ensuring that the vision-mission, philosophy, core values, and goals and objectives are attained. 

Diploma in Office Administration

Caritas Business College (CBC) is launching 2-year diploma programs in Office Administration and Tourism & Hospitality Management. As a technical tertiary institution, CBC aims to equip youth with employment-oriented skills to create positive change in their communities and Papua New Guinea (PNG).

CBC offers well-planned programs and instructions to meet society's demands. Our curriculum focuses on educational outcomes, subject matter, and meaningful learning experiences. Success depends on qualified teachers, student-centered strategies, technology integration, thought-provoking questions, conducive learning environments, and positive relationships.

The Diploma in Office Administration is a comprehensive program preparing students for clerical, administrative, supervisory, and managerial tasks in the global workplace. It blends hands-on training, professional development, character formation, and industry immersion. Graduates gain the knowledge and skills needed to add value to organizations in a dynamic marketplace.

Aligned with PNG's Vision 2050 and Medium Term Development Plan, our program contributes to human capital development and provides more opportunities for the country's youth. Office administration skills are vital in all businesses, and our program ensures students are well-prepared for the increasing complexities of business processes.

Completing the program enhances employment prospects in various sectors, including government agencies, education, law firms, healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, travel, insurance, and banking. Graduates can also thrive in small business and entrepreneurship environments.

Upon graduation, participants may qualify for positions such as clerk, secretary, executive assistant, supervisor, coordinator, office manager, junior accountant, payroll administrator, bookkeeper, or benefits administrator. Experience and initiative can lead to advancement in administration, human resources, payroll, accounting, or computer systems roles.

Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management 

This program focuses on providing students with the latest technology-based training, industry certifications, and essential skills required for success in the dynamic hospitality and tourism sector.

At CBC, we strive to equip our students with recognized leadership abilities, operational strategies, marketing expertise, and competencies necessary to effectively manage teams and operations in the tourism and hospitality industry. By understanding organizational behavior within this sector, our students are prepared to lead with service excellence in Papua New Guinea and beyond.

Our Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management program aligns with the PNG Vision 2050 and the country's Medium Term Development Plan, aiming to develop the nation's human capital and create more skills training and employment opportunities for our growing youth population.

Through comprehensive coursework, students are introduced to various aspects of the industry, including lodging, travel and tourism, recreation, amusements, attractions, and food and beverage operations. With a high demand for skilled professionals in this field, our graduates are well-positioned for employment opportunities both locally and internationally.

Upon completion of the program, participants will have the confidence to handle diverse situations, respecting people from different backgrounds, customs, and cultures. In the thriving economy of Papua New Guinea, the hospitality industry plays a significant role, and our program emphasizes the importance of providing excellent customer service to both local and international tourists.

Graduates of our Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management program can pursue a range of exciting career paths, including industry general manager, sales and marketing coordinator, human resource manager, housekeeping manager, food and beverage manager, front desk manager, or meetings and events coordinator. With further studies and training, students may even explore opportunities as flight attendants or chefs.
